Professional Background
Mr. Stern is a Co-founder and a Managing Member of Stellar Capital
Management. In over 40 years of professional success in the investment
field, Mr. Stern, a Chartered Financial Analyst, was a First Vice
President of Newburger, Loeb & Co. in New York City beginning in
1962, mainly as Supervisory Research Analyst and Floor Partner; a Senior
Vice President and Director of Equity Research at Central Trust Company
in Cincinnati; and a Vice President, managing both the bank and trust
investments, at Great Western Bank in Phoenix before establishing
in his own investment firm in 1984 and then co-founding Stellar
Capital Management in 2000. He has been published or quoted in Barron's,
Medical Economics, the Wall Street Transcript, The Arizona Republic,
The Business Journal, Employee Benefits Journal, and Trusts and Estates. He is profiled in Who's Who in America.
Community and Professional Organizations
Mr. Stern has served on the Boards of the Phoenix Society of Financial
Analysts, the Phoenix Chamber Music Society, the American Jewish
Committee, the Asian Arts Council, the University Club of Phoenix and
the Arizona Theatre Company. He served as President of the Arizona
Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and on its national planned giving
committee. He is currently a Member of the CFA Institute, the Phoenix
CFA Society, a Board Member of the Harvard Business School Club of
Arizona, Vice President of the Princeton Alumni Association of Northern
Arizona, a member of the Alumni Schools Committee for Princeton
University , and an Executive Board Member of the Anti-Defamation
League, as well as an Associate National Commissioner. He received the "Al" Brooks Community Leadership Award in 1995.
Education
Mr. Stern holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University,
and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University.
