Professional Background
Mr. Crowley Of Counsel has over 40 years of professional experience focused primarily in the investment research field. He has served as director
of
investment research, chaired various investment committees, managed
institutional portfolios, and
served as an equity analyst in his 25
years at both BankAmerica and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. (KBW).
Following his retirement from KBW in 1992, Mr. Crowley served as
Chairman and later as President & CEO of Smith & Crowley, Inc.,
an investment banking company formed with Robert H. Smith, retired
BankAmerica president and former CEO of Security Pacific Corp. After
moving to Payson, Arizona, in 1998, Mr. Crowley launched Arizona Rim
Country Investment Management, building its investment management
practice for eight years before blending its operations with Stellar
Capital Management in late 2006. He has consulted, written and spoken
extensively on banking, financial stock investments, and other topics.
Community and Professional Organizations
Mr. Crowley holds memberships in the Phoenix CFA Society, the New York
Society of Security Analysts, and the CFA Institute. He serves on the
Board of Governors of Gila Community College, the Board of the Mogollon
Health Alliance (owner of Payson Regional Medical Center), the
Executive Committee of WakeUpCall – Concerned Citizens for Gila
County Political Reform, the Advisory Board of the Zane Grey Cabin
Foundation, as Co-Chair of Citizens for Better Payson Government, and
is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Zane Grey Country. He has formerly
held various trustee and director positions at Independent Bancorp of
Arizona (owner of Caliber Bank and now part of Wells Fargo Bank);
NextCard (an Internet credit card company), the A. P. Giannini
Foundation (named for the founder of Bank of America), the Lindsay
Museum (a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Northern California), and
the museum's endowment fund.
Education
Mr. Crowley is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley,
attended the New York University Graduate School of Business in banking
and finance, and investment and executive programs at Harvard and
Claremont Colleges.
